Ilya Botanic Suites is a boutique hotel located within a traditional olive grove in the village of Steni Vala, next to the beach of Glyfa in Alonissos. Despite its small scale, the landscape design plays a central role in shaping the identity of the property, drawing inspiration from the island’s rich and diverse flora.
The planting scheme focuses on species that reference the botanical heritage of Alonissos, with an emphasis on local aromatic herbs and native phrygana. The design enhances the natural character of the site and integrates harmoniously into the olive grove, creating an outdoor environment that promotes an authentic hospitality experience.
Plantings frame the rooms and shared spaces, serving both aesthetic and functional purposes: they offer natural shading, support biodiversity, and reflect the hotel’s philosophy of connecting people with nature.
