Casa Cook Samos

The island of Samos combines elements of wild nature with a gentle, cultivated rural landscape. This balanced setting offers ideal references for a design approach that evokes relaxation and subtle luxury, fully aligned with the Casa Cook philosophy.

The landscape design at Casa Cook Samos aims to soften the strict geometric lines of the architecture, wrapping the cubist volumes in a rich, seemingly spontaneous planting scheme that echoes the natural landscape of the island.

The planting palette is based on species from the local flora, dominated by warm tones of beige and olive, forming a harmonious composition that blends organically into the surroundings. Emphasis was placed on the use of ornamental grasses, which bring a sense of movement and constant variation, as the landscape responds to the direction and intensity of the wind — in contrast to the static architectural forms.

The selection of ornamental grasses also reflects the character of the broader area, where nearby wetlands host similar species. Their gentle movement in the wind softens the transition from architecture to nature, inspired by the natural patterns between coastal and inland vegetation.
